Higher Education Institutions + Non-Profits

Consulting

Consulting is for organizations and businesses looking to understand ways to engage in learning, communication, and engagement about inclusive leadership, social justice, anti-racism, and general DEI practices. Bias can impact the ability to effectively create sustainable DEI-centric practices in an organization. Build new levels of DEI awareness, comprehension, and integration organization-wide by identifying and unlearning bias within safe space we create together for your leadership and teams.

If you are hoping to develop a sustained inclusive culture, advance competency around diversity of current or ideal clients, or become more confident in social justice-related outward-facing messaging, here’s how you begin:

  • Needs assessment

  • Goals and outcomes setting

  • Review of existing procedures, data, and practices

  • Audit current working documents

  • Reflection questions and consideration support

    • Ask hard questions about social justice in organizations

    • Facilitate dialogue with all constituents of organizations

  • Recommendations for maximum effective Trauma-informed DEI practice

Students have their own custom guidebook to utilize during the training and to keep as a resource moving forward. This is an awesome and intentional training session with useful support materials for Residents Assistants, FSL Leaders, and Student Mentors!

The retention and recruitment of marginalized groups must be prioritized by all key constituents of an organization in order to create accessible and equitable cultural changes.

Spotlight Testimonial

From top to bottom, the experience was amazing. Michelle is so professional and ensured that everything went smoothly. She came prepared and set up a meeting prior to the event to make sure we were on the same page. She asked key questions to understand our audience and demographic and made sure to incorporate those things to build connections. During the actual presentation, she was relatable, she was energetic, and she was informative. Many of the students loved her approach to the topic. Michelle also did a breakout session and the students enjoyed it and discussed how they wanted her to come back.

I would say overall, her FRESH approach to the topic and relatability were the things that stood out most to me. I would bring her back over and over as she was great to work with and enjoyable for our over 500 students.

What Other Professionals Are Saying

“Michelle was extremely knowledgeable about what our group needed to open up and engage during our D&I workshop. She stayed unbiased and wasn’t afraid to ask hard questions that challenged us. She facilitated various activities that made us think outside the box as well. No matter what institution I work for, I will always highly recommend Michelle for team building DEI education. “

“Jalali was a pleasure to work with! We initially inquired to request her speaking services to serve as a keynote speaker/workshop spotlight for our recent virtual leadership conference. Jalali was able to talk through her experience with her past workshops and incorporate our vision and themes for our event, ultimately making her a great fit for our event. She facilitated two workshops that focused on allyship and advocacy. Jalali was able to speak with confidence on the topics, meet the student participants where they were at, while also providing tangible practices they could implement after the workshop. If you are looking for an engaging facilitator to challenge your participants to inspire and create action, Jalali is the way to go!”

— Assistant Director Civic Engagement, Nova Southeastern University

“Michelle did a great job engaging with our students. Our students have been through multiple DEI trainings, and the feedback we have received points to that this was their favorite one so far. They enjoyed that it was interactive and allowed them to reflect on their own identities before going into how to support their residents.”
